Devotional Thoughts
That was a lot of rock! It took three years, several truck loads and countless hours of labor but we finished!

Our home sat on a steep hillside that needed landscaping and since my uncle had a piece of land where rock was plentiful, my wife and I walked through his pasture, loaded rocks into our truck, hauled them home then packed them one by one down the steep bank and stacked them in a pile. Then as I built the walls I would select the ones I wanted and carefully measure and fit the rocks together. I used no mortar, only gravity and the careful placement of each one so it would look good and provide stability to the other rocks.

Each one of us is unique yet to stand alone is to be hidden, ineffective and noticed only by the occasional grazing cow. Don’t fret that your spot in the wall seems small. You are precious to God and He has a place where we are intended to fit and be held together by a common faith in Christ.

With you, the church is stronger and Jesus is honored.

“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory” John 17:24

Peter tells us we are like those rocks, living stones chosen by God to reveal Himself to a lost world. God picks us up and with His masterful hands places us in His
